This week I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the new Pixi collection and received a number of the new products to try for myself. The event was held at the Pixi store off Carnaby Street and featured yummy Hummingbird Cupcakes, Champagne and Elderflower Fizz.
The new Pixi range is a collaboration with Disney’s Tinkerbell, so expect fairy inspired colours and Peter Pan related product names. The first one I’m going to review is the one that was the biggest surprise for both myself and my lovely friend Maria of Ms Drifted Snow White.
So, this is the first product that I’m reviewing, the Pixi Magic Tink Tint. Isn’t the packaging cute? The idea behind the range is that they are colours that the creator, Petra would imagine a fairy to wear, colours inspired by berries, flowers and nature.
The main thing that turned me off from this product initially was the baby pink colour, however, I loved the chunky design and the floral prints on the packaging.
However, as the name suggests, this chunky lip crayon is magic and changes colour to match the Ph of your skin, so you will find it a different shade of pink on each person.
I’ve drawn a heart on my hand with this pencil, as you can see it’s a very sheer pink, with a nice subtle gloss. Petra, the creator of Pixi describes this formula as a mixture of lipstick and lip balm and I would agree. It feels nice of moisturising when you apply it, and the colour is lovely for everyday, as well as being a nice treat to pop in your handbag for touching up during the day.
As you can see it has the appearance of a tinted lip balm when on and I love the colour that it goes on me. The only downside to the product is that I don’t find it long lasting, you do have to reapply to keep it fresh looking, but I think you would expect this from a product that resembles a lip balm over anything else.
Watch out for my reviews of the rest of the new PixiGLOW Tinkerbell range coming soon!
What do you think? Would you buy this?
