There aren't too many of these gloss/ lip pencil/ lip color products out right now but I thought I would compare 3 brands, each at a different price point, and see how they measure up to each other.

The products in this review are:

• Urban Decay's Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Adrenaline - $19 at Sephora
• Sephora's Ultra Vinyl Lip Pencil in 01 Fuchsia Fever - $12 at Sephora
• Milani's Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencil in 05 Hot Flash - $6-$8 at Target

In terms of amount of product for each of the above, they are pretty comparable. UD and Sephora are exactly the same while Milani has just a tad less product.

Now for the true comparison:

• Retouches-- UD's lasts the longest, only requiring one retouch during the workday. Sephora's was also pretty long lasting-- one to two retouches during the workday depending on how much coffee I drank. However the Milani pencil brought out lip paranoia in me. I felt I had to retouch at least 5 or 6 times.

• Color Saturation-- UD and Milani are tied. Bright color in just one coat, though UD's left a nice tint as it faded. Sephoras was last-- Had good color but I layered it up a bit more. This could be due to the lighter color I have this pencil in.

• Gloss-- All had aproximately the same amount of sheen with no tacky feel.

• Other- I felt that the Milani pencil was a bit harder to control in terms of application. Its a bit creamier/ softer than the others. It still easier to apply than most lipsticks though. Milani and Sephora also have a larger color selection than UD. 

Final Thoughts: I think that Urban Decay's was the winner for me, with Sephora's being a close second. If price factors into it, I would go for the Sephora brand pencil. Fuschia Fever is an exact color dupe for Urban Decay's Super Saturated Big Bang.

To be honest though, even though Milani doesn't quite measure up when compared to the other two, it still is a great pencil for the price and beats out a lot of lipsticks that I own. I'm a big fan of these glossy pencils as a whole since they are portable (takes up practically no space in a tiny clutch) and easy to reapply.
