El London: A Low-Maintenance Bright Pink Lip
Confession: I'm a total chicken when it comes to doing the whole bright lip thing.

Having said that, there's only so many nude lipsticks you can buy before you realise they all look the same. Yep I've been there. You swatch them all on your hand and justify the purchase you just made because it's slightly pinkier/peachier/glossier than the others but, let's face it. On the lips, they don't look too different from each other.

Swatch.

A few weeks ago, when I found myself looking at yet another nude, I had to force myself to back away and luckily, I stumbled upon the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Pencils. (Am I a geek for not being able to say 'stumbled upon' without thinking of the social network)? I'd heard Sammi from BeautyCrush talk about them before and I figured this might be an easier way to embrace the bright lip trend. I love it when I'm right :). This is the first bright I've tried without removing immediately afterwards!

Personally, I love wearing this alone with some Carmex or a bit of tinted lip balm if I want to bring out the colour more. The colour is already a bright blue-toned pink but on brave days, I've been layering it with my Born Lippy Strawberry Lip Balm from The Body Shop. I've been wearing it everyday because it's so practical. I can't even feel this on my lips. Don't get me wrong. I love my lipsticks. But reapplying is a bitch. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone who needs something that'll make it through a day at work/school. It lasts for ages and even when it's wearing off, it leaves you with a nice pinky stain. To last a full day 9-6, I would only need to touch up once during my lunch break. It blends well, applies smoothly, is well pigmented but not drying and there's loads of colours to choose from.
