Award Winning Beauty - VIM Magazine | MSU's fashion outlet

Last night we all put down the midterm study guides and instead opted to watch the 2012 Oscars. While we could have been guessing which actor/actress would take home an award, we here at VIM seemed to be more obsessed with the fashion and beauty choices of the night. An Alexander McQueen dress or  Bulgari jewels may not be in our near future, but at least we are able to mimic the looks that compliment every great Oscar ensemble. VIM has five award winning looks that can easily be used for a night out here in East Lansing.

Emma Stone- With such a statement dress and a bold neckline, Emma toned down her makeup and instead subtly highlighted her eyes. A thin cat-eyed liner and soft sweep of pale pink shadow pulled her look together. To steal Emma’s look try NAR’s Trio palette and Stila’s All Day liner.

NARS Trio Eyeshadow in Douce France, $45

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black, $20

Viola Davis- It was hard not to notice The Help star’s eye catching liner in a brilliant green. This look is easily perfected with  a great pencil liner that can be smudged and filled in. Kat Von D’s liner in Eyegasm has spot on color and easy application.

Kat Von D Autograph Pencil in Eyegasm (shimmering bright jade), $18

Michelle Williams- The Marilyn Monroe look-a-like proves that you don’t have to go overboard to look like a famous Hollywood starlet. Williams kept her platinum blonde pixie as the center of attention with her soft rose colored lips and flawless face.

Clé de Peau Beauté Enriched Lip Lumizer in Cherry Pie, $35

Penelope Cruz- A muted lip and earth toned shadow helped this star’s natural beauty shine. A pale pink lip pencil and earthy eyeshadow palette is all you need to score Penelope Cruz’s naturally striking look.

Urban Decay NAKED2 Eye Palette, $50

Napolean Perdis Lip Pencil in Mauve Minx, $20

Rooney Mara- The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo actress proves that you don’t have to pack on the product to make a statement on the red carpet. Rooney’s long lashes, red lip, and porcelain skin made for an effortless and timeless look.

Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes, $26

Tom Ford Private Blend Lipstick in Cherry Lush, $48
